CSP History & FundingOn May 1, 2009, Charter School Partners formally began its outreach efforts to promote the growth and expansion of high quality charter schools in Minnesota.
CSP has received support from the Walton Family Foundation and numerous local corporate and foundation donors, including the Best Buy Children's Foundation, the Carlson Family Foundation, Medtronic Foundation, Cargill Corporate Giving, Robbins. Kaplan. Miller & Ciresi. LLP, Friends of Education, the Minneapolis Foundation as well as numerous individual donors.
In its first three years, Charter School Partners has worked with over 30 Partner Schools, providing a broad range of services. In addition, CSP partnered with the Minneapolis Foundation to provide the Cambridge Education School Quality Review for ten additional inner city Minneapolis charter schools.
The Partner Schools vary widely in demographics and philosophy. They include project-based as well as classical schools, start-ups and well established schools, inner city and suburban schools. Eleven different state Authorizers are represented in CSP Partner Schools.
